In 2024, Stellantis experienced a downturn but has since adopted a new strategy to revitalize its brands. The company has granted autonomy to the leaders of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Trucks in Detroit, allowing them to leverage their expertise. This move has instilled optimism for 2025 among these brands.

Tim Kuniskis, the recently reinstated head of Ram Trucks, has outlined a clear strategy focusing on developing a mid-size pickup truck and considering the reintroduction of the Hemi V8 engine. Chris Feuell, overseeing Chrysler and Alfa Romeo, is dedicated to revitalizing the struggling U.S. brand. Bob Broderdorf, leading Jeep in North America, plans to address escalating Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices (MSRPs). Meanwhile, Dodge CEO Matt McAlear is exploring the creative digital automotive community’s perspectives, noting a strong demand for the return of the V8 engine in the Dodge Charger.

Digital automotive artist David Baylis, known on social media as davidbaylisdesign, has reimagined the new Dodge Charger Daytona. He transformed it into a Hemi V8-powered vehicle that pays tribute to its classic muscle car predecessors. Drawing inspiration from the 1969 Charger and its Challenger counterpart, Baylis retrofitted the STLA Large-based eighth-generation Dodge Charger Daytona EV with vintage design elements. He enhanced it with aggressive hood scoops, a subtle widebody aerodynamic kit, new wheels, and prominent rectangular tailpipes, signaling the V8’s return under the hood.

Baylis chose the SRT8 designation, historically associated with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine in previous Dodge models, for this reimagined Charger. He envisions it producing between 600 to 650 horsepower, surpassing the Charger Sixpack’s 550-hp Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbo option. To complete the design, he showcased the hypothetical 2026 Dodge Charger SRT8 in a vibrant Dark Orange paint job.

This creative endeavor reflects a broader trend within Stellantis to blend nostalgic design with modern performance, aiming to appeal to both traditional muscle car enthusiasts and new customers.
