General Motors is actively preparing to launch the second-generation Chevrolet Bolt, aiming to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market. Unlike its predecessor, the new Bolt will debut solely as a compact crossover SUV, positioned below the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Blazer EV in the brand’s electric lineup.

To expedite development and reduce costs, Chevrolet plans to utilize an updated version of the existing BEV2 platform. The upcoming Bolt will feature Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells, known for their affordability, durability, and superior temperature resilience compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. Chevrolet targets an estimated range of approximately 260 miles per charge, with DC fast charging capabilities that can add 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes. The vehicle will come equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, granting access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, and an integrated heat pump to enhance efficiency during winter driving. Additionally, Chevrolet is considering an autonomous ‘robotaxi’ version and plans to introduce a revamped infotainment system. Despite these advancements, the company aims to keep the starting price below $30,000. Digital renderings from TopElectricSUV.com showcase the anticipated design of the 2026 Chevrolet Bolt in various colors, providing a glimpse into the vehicle’s potential aesthetics.
