Hyundai is set to launch the Creta Electric at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo on January 17, 2025. This model will be Hyundai’s most affordable electric vehicle in India, aiming to compete with rivals like the Tata Curvv EV.

Design and Features

The Creta Electric retains the design language of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, with EV-specific modifications such as a blanked-off grille, 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, and revised bumpers featuring active air flaps.

Inside, the cabin mirrors the ICE version but introduces a grey and navy blue theme. Notable changes include a new 3-spoke steering wheel, a steering column-mounted gear selector, and a cleaner center console. The vehicle boasts dual 10.25-inch digital screens for infotainment and driver information, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Additional amenities encompass ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.

Safety

Safety features include six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite offering functionalities like adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation assist.

Charging

Hyundai claims that the Creta Electric can charge from 10% to 80% in 58 minutes using a DC fast charger. An 11 kW AC charger can fully charge the Hyundai Creta Electric battery from 10% to 100% in approximately 4 hours.

Competition

Upon its debut, the Hyundai Creta Electric will compete with models like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.
