Mazda has officially introduced its most powerful MX-5 Miata ever, the MX-5 12R, during its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon. This highly anticipated model represents a collaboration between Mazda and its performance division, Mazda Spirit Racing. The car’s upgraded specifications have been designed to deliver a more thrilling driving experience, particularly for enthusiasts who value power, precision, and exclusivity.
At the heart of the MX-5 12R lies a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates an impressive 197 horsepower, significantly outpacing the standard model’s 181 horsepower. To achieve this power boost, engineers implemented several enhancements to the engine. These include the addition of new camshafts, reworked cylinder heads, upgraded pistons, and a high-performance exhaust manifold. These changes ensure that the MX-5 12R delivers more responsiveness and an exhilarating driving performance.
