Maserati has been facing significant challenges, including halting production of its electric vehicles until at least early February 2025. The company has also discontinued several models for the 2025 model year, such as the Ghibli sedan, Quattroporte saloon, and Levante crossover SUV. Currently, Maserati’s lineup includes only the MC20 sports car, the compact Grecale SUV, and the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio models. Santo Ficili, the new CEO, acknowledges the difficulty in reversing the brand’s declining sales and does not anticipate a profit this year.
In response to these challenges, Giorgi Tedoradze, a Georgia-based industrial designer known on social media as tedoradze.giorgi, has envisioned a revitalized 2026 Maserati Levante. His design presents a sleeker alternative to typical premium crossover SUVs like the Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, Genesis GV80, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Lexus RX. The proposed Levante features a streamlined profile, an aggressive front grille resembling an angry shark, and a sporty rear end highlighted by stacked dual exhaust outlets on each side.
Tedoradze suggests that Maserati could benefit from repositioning the Levante’s pricing from the higher Aston Martin DBX range to levels comparable with the Range Rover Sport and Porsche Cayenne. This strategy might boost sales and increase profits through higher delivery volumes.
While this design remains an unofficial, hypothetical concept, it offers a compelling vision for how Maserati could rejuvenate its SUV lineup and address current market challenges.
